SING AOTEAROA YOUTH PROGRAMME

For singers in Year 6 and above
23–26 October 2026 | Rotorua
$150 per singer

Join NZCCA this Labour Weekend for an exciting choral experience alongside the national Sing Aotearoa festival in Rotorua.

Designed for singers in Year 6 and above, this long-weekend programme combines singing, musicianship, games, and musical discovery in a fun and supportive environment. Participants will work with an outstanding team of tutors: Elise Bradley MNZM, Elisha Fa'i-So'oialo, Amelia Giles, and Maria Winder MNZM, supported by collaborative pianists Cathy Bennett, Sofia Onishko, and Shamus Baker.

Rehearsals will take place at The Arts Village, just a four-minute walk from the Sir Howard Morrison Centre, where the adult Sing Aotearoa programme is based.

Singers will learn a selection of songs, including music by New Zealand composers, develop their musicianship skills, and enjoy plenty of musical games and activities. The programme also includes opportunities to experience Rotorua, with a walk among the magnificent Redwoods Forest, participating in a pōhiri at Ōhinemutu and a visit to Kuirau Park to see Rotorua's famous geothermal activity up close.

Participants will attend Sing Aotearoa lunchtime concerts, meet singers from around New Zealand, and perform in the final Sing Aotearoa concert at the conclusion of the weekend.

The daily schedule is designed to align with the adult Sing Aotearoa programme, making it easy for parents attending the convention to drop off their children knowing they will be engaged, supervised, and enjoying their own high-quality musical experience.

Whether you're already a confident singer or looking to develop your skills, NZCCA Sing Aotearoa offers a memorable weekend of music, friendship, learning, and performance in one of New Zealand's most unique destinations.
